Rising and MINEDUC Rwanda sign a new MoU to extend the “RisingFaster” remedial program to more schools
Following two years of impressive, cost-effective results in the pioneering Elimu-Soko pilot, we’re thrilled to announce an expanded partnership with Rwanda's Ministry of Education (MINEDUC). This new MoU will see our literacy and numeracy program, RisingFaster, grow to reach 120 schools and impact over 60,000 students in the coming year.
A heartfelt thanks goes to the Hempel Foundation and Axum, the founding partners of the Elimu-Soko Initiative, whose support and guidance have been instrumental throughout the pilot. We’re equally excited to deepen our collaboration with the Rwanda Basic Education Board and the National Examination and School Inspection Authority.
Rising’s Head of Programs, Fidele Hagenimana, discussing the new MoU said:
“It’s a proud moment for the Rising Team. The Ministry reviewed the validated results from our two-year pilot and are excited about the potential of the program to support students to catch-up in literacy and numeracy. We were also delighted to see such positive feedback from teachers. Over 95% of teachers involved in the pilot expressed a strong interest in continuing the program and confirmed that they would recommend it to other schools. This year we will generate further evidence that RisingFaster is a powerful solution to support learning and schools across Rwanda”.
